Yes — Uganda is one of East Africa's safest and most welcoming countries. Tourism areas are well-patrolled and Ugandans are known for their warmth and hospitality. Our guides are with you throughout your journey.

How much does gorilla trekking cost?

A gorilla permit costs $800 USD per person for Bwindi or Mgahinga. This is set by Uganda Wildlife Authority. Our packages include the permit along with accommodation, transport, and guide fees.

When is the best time to visit Uganda?

Uganda can be visited year-round, but the best times are the dry seasons: June–September and December–February. Gorilla trekking is possible all year, though dry season trails are easier.

Do I need a visa to visit Uganda?

Yes. Most nationalities require a visa. You can apply for an East Africa Tourist Visa online which also covers Rwanda and Kenya. We can assist with all visa and permit applications.

What vaccinations do I need?

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required to enter Uganda. We also recommend malaria prophylaxis, Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and Rabies vaccines. Consult your doctor 6–8 weeks before travel.

How physically demanding is gorilla trekking?

Treks vary from 1–8 hours depending on gorilla location. Moderate fitness is recommended. We can arrange shorter treks and porter assistance. All ages can enjoy the experience.

What currency is used in Uganda?

Uganda uses the Uganda Shilling (UGX). 1 USD ≈ 3,916 UGX. USD is widely accepted at most lodges. We advise bringing some local cash for tips and markets.
