Detailed Day-by-Day Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Meet your guide in Kigali for a brief introduction to Rwanda, then drive north toward Musanze and the foothills of the Virunga volcanoes. Depending on your arrival time, stop at a scenic viewpoint or enjoy a gentle cultural visit. Check in near the park and prepare clothing, packed lunch and footwear for the following morning.

Overnight: A suitable lodge or hotel in the overnight destination, chosen after your preferred comfort level and availability are confirmed.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking

Transfer early to the park headquarters in Kinigi for registration and the official briefing. Join your ranger group and drive to the assigned trailhead before hiking toward a habituated gorilla family. Trek length varies considerably with terrain and gorilla movements. Enjoy the regulated viewing period and return to the lodge to rest after the experience.

Overnight: A suitable lodge or hotel in the overnight destination, chosen after your preferred comfort level and availability are confirmed.

Day 3: Return to Kigali

Enjoy breakfast with mountain views before the drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight time, include a short city tour or lunch stop. Your driver will arrange a hotel or airport transfer, allowing adequate time for departure formalities. Gorilla permits are limited and should be confirmed before flight bookings.

Overnight: Safari ends after the agreed drop-off; additional accommodation can be arranged if required.
