TRAVEL THE THRIVE WAY
Discover gorilla trekking, chimpanzees, wildlife adventures and lakeside escapes across Uganda.
Uganda combines mountain gorilla encounters with vibrant rainforest, open savannah, powerful waterfalls and peaceful lakes. A private itinerary gives you room to experience these different landscapes without trying to fit every attraction into a single rushed journey. Browse the safari cards below for ideas, then discuss your dates, accommodation category and favourite experiences with us.
For many travellers, gorilla trekking is the central Uganda experience. The activity takes place in protected forests under the guidance of Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The minimum age is generally 15, permits are limited and hiking conditions vary. We match suitable accommodation and arrival routes to the sector or park where permit availability is confirmed.
Kibale National Park is known for chimpanzee tracking and forest wildlife. Queen Elizabeth National Park offers game drives, crater landscapes and boat excursions on the Kazinga Channel. Murchison Falls National Park features the River Nile, wildlife viewing and the dramatic falls. In the far northeast, Kidepo Valley adds wide horizons and a more remote savannah atmosphere.
Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo can provide scenic breaks between active safari days. Depending on your itinerary, nature walks, birdwatching, community experiences and suitable boat activities may add variety. These are arranged according to local availability and current operator conditions.
A short gorilla-focused journey may take three to five days, while a varied wildlife and primate circuit benefits from a week or longer. The right duration depends on your arrival city, activities, domestic-flight preference and tolerance for road travel. Explore our gorilla trekking guide or travel planning advice.
