The journey
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to around half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. With a ranger and trackers you follow a habituated gorilla family through steep, ancient rainforest, then spend a magical hour in their company.
It is one of the most moving wildlife encounters on earth, and this short journey is designed to make it simple: we secure your permit, drive you to the forest and look after every detail.
Highlights
- A full gorilla trekking day with an hour beside a habituated family
- Gorilla permit arranged as soon as your dates are confirmed
- Comfortable lodge on the forest edge
- Optional community and nature walks around Bwindi
Good to know
Treks can take from one to several hours over steep, muddy ground, so a reasonable level of fitness helps. Porters are available locally and are highly recommended. Minimum age for gorilla trekking is 15.
